My yearly trips to England aren’t complete without a trip to my favorite department store Liberty of London, which is on Regent Street and stocks everything beauty related you’d ever want. (Well, that is, if your tastes lean toward the expensive, glamorous and oh-so-luxurious.)
When I heard that epic perfume range Frédéric Malle was collaborating with Liberty to celebrate Frédéric Malle’s 5-year anniversary, it made for a no-brainer post. To commemorate, Frédéric hand-selected 18 bottles, then sorted through the Liberty archives to match them with iconic Liberty prints. (Liberty, you see, is famous for its centuries-old traditions of floral prints and artistic collaborations.)
Frédéric Malle’s scents aren’t cheap: his Portrait of a Lady, for example, will set you back about $340. It’s also one of the most talked about and beloved fragrances of the past few years: a love it or hate it oriental scent that polarizes in the way perfume is supposed to (imho).
Frédéric has also introduced a limited-edition holiday candle called, appropriately, Joyeux Noël: it’s a collaboration between Frédéric Malle and Dominique Ropion (who also created Portrait of a Lady). The candle is a bargain by comparison: “only” $95 at Frédéric’s recently renovated website, FredericMalle.com.
Well, nobody said luxury was cheap, hmm?
